Clever Bird

The photos are not good as I don't have much zoom on my phone camera but on our walks I've seen this starling couple going in and out of a bathroom vent over the last week.
They are really clever because the vent is closed with 3 flaps and they have to work hard to lift a flap up to get in. Coming out will be easier as they can push it open. Birds never cease to amaze me with their skills and inventiveness.

We should have been at the VE Day Skipton Boat Festival this weekend. Only a few weeks ago we were planning our outfits and Frank had bought a second hand suit which looked the part. https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2670275404798887016 Fiddlesticks would have been decorated front to back with Union Jacks, fairy lights and other 1940's props.
Such a shame to miss this anniversary.

Last evening we had a lovely time in our neighbour's (Sarah and Michael) garden with some other neighbours from round about. Their lawn is a large area and the seats round the perimeter were all at least 2 meters apart. Frank entertained us for a while on the guitar and then there was a quiz. We didn't do too well in that but is was a good laugh!

We had a lovely garden bench delivered today. Frank saw an advert on FB from a local market trader who was selling all his benches half price.

When Sarah and Mick and the boys went for their walk today they found me some wild garlic to plant in the garden! I'm thrilled to bits - it doesn't take much for me to get excited!

The weather is to change tomorrow so I'm going to weed the garden now.
