The Carnival is over

In fact, Chobham Carnival didn't happen at all this year. It was due take place on VE Day and would have been part of the celebrations of the 75th Anniversary. Chobham Carnival usually takes place on the May Day Bank Holiday on the recreation ground. Today's picture is of the Memorial Gates at the entrance to the Rec. Had life not been turned upside down by Covid-19 the Rec would have been packed with people, entertainers and floats from the parade through the High Street.
