A day of remembering for some and learning for many of the younger generations.

I was just a few weeks old when VE Day occurred. My father worked for the Air Ministry at 12 MU Kirkbride, Nr Carlisle. I have a picture of him taken during the war years (in extras) he is seated second row up, on the end at the right side.

I remember hearing lots of stories during my childhood and experiencing rationing.

Today we received a gift from the two little girls next door. Jam buns made using the raspberry jam that we made recently and gave to them as an Easter present. We had them with tea and they were delicious!!!!
