Darkness into light

This coming Saturday should have been the annual Darkness into Light dawn walk, fundraising for Pieta House who provides free therapy to those engaging in self-harm, with suicidal ideation, or bereaved by suicide. Social distancing has put paid to these events.  As some members of our local camera club have taken part in this event over the years, it has been suggested that we get out before dawn on Saturday and take photographs to mark the occasion. 
This morning I awoke before sunrise and started to think about the sunrise, so further sleep was impossible. I had to get up and see if the sun would be in the predicted position where it could be seen rising beside the cross on the local hill. I was not disappointed.
