Other people's gardens

The mania for blipping flowers continues. Well, it's sunny, and many of them are blooming. So why not?

This is one of several huge poppies blooming in a cultivated bed outside Leith Theatre, which is currently being used as a food bank collection depot. In the extras, a clematis escaping a back garden over the wall into Keddie Gardens.

The weather was as grim first thing as it's been for a while. Cold and a bit rainy. I took the car to the supermarket just after 7am and was home before 8am, with a full load of shopping. Everything by bike and foot now for a while. Mr A made soup for lunch from various ingredients that were in the box. After lunch I walked down to Ocean Terminal to collect a Mr A's prescription, and then popped into Simply Wine to see whether it was - as meles had suggested - a nicer venue for bits of shopping than some of the other options. It is indeed.

An opera (Oedipus Rex) and some iplayer nonsense (The Shadows at 60) in the evening.

In normal years, today would be a bank holiday (although not really in Scotland I think). Anyway, it wasn't today, as the workers' day has been abandoned this year in favour of marking some neo-imperialist nonsense on Friday. But somehow it felt like one. Maybe that's what every day feels like under lockdown....
