Lower and upper winds

I looked up the wind profile for this afternoon to explain these clouds.  The base of the small cumulus is about 750m where the temp is 5˚C and there is a very slow westerly drift.  The cumulus tops are at about 1500m and 0˚C.  High above at maybe 9000m there is a strong westerly flow at around 100mph and -48˚C.

I'm glad we were on the ground where it was a very pleasant day.

And I seem to remember if the lower and upper winds are parallel then no imminent change in the weather.
