Where's ya bin!

Well, as promised, we had a very small amount of light rain this morning, just enough to lay the dust and no more! I went out for a walk as usual after lunch/ but it was a lot cooler than yesterday.

Wonderful cumulus clouds today, so different from the strange formations of the last few days. I took a lot of pictures down at the harbour, but decided to be different today so Blipped this rubbish-filled road salt bin in our road. Putting rubbish in the salt bin is a fairly new idea - last year a group of revellers passing by at 3am turned this bin - and another - over, tipping all the salt out into the road.

It's odd really - if there's a rubbish bin, most people use it. If there's no bin, a lot of folk throw their rubbish over the fence. If there's a salt bin but no rubbish bin, then they fill it with rubbish!  The conclusion therefore, as far as this road is concerned, is that if a bin is provided then it will generally be used. Therefore, a couple of months ago, I wrote to the council suggesting that this might be a good place for a rubbish bin. I heard nothing in reply, but speaking to a member of the council later I was told that Oban will be removing some of the rubbish bins as they didn't have the staff to empty them all! As the youf of today would say 'Wha' everrrr'!

Quote of the Day:

Anthony T. Hincks - “Man will learn one day that all the money in the world will not magically change it into a beautiful place. Then he will learn that love, respect and understanding were needed instead, but by then it will be too, too late.”
