Arran postcards

when suitable piers were not available on Arran such as here at Pirnmill on the west coast small ferries carried passengers to and from the steamers. This postcard of 1910 shows Edwardian ladies and gentlemen watching a heavily loaded small ferry fortunately in favourable weather conditions in the Kilbrannan sound.
The steamer King Edward see extra1 was a regular at that time stopping at Pirnmill en route to Campbeltown.
Another extra shows visiting steamer Queen Mary 11 seen at Corrie on the east coast  with a small ferry transporting passengers in 1967
