Fledgling

Worked this morning and pottered about this afternoon, now just sitting in the girls room while they fall asleep, a late night for them after they joined the clap for carers.

Heard a commotion in the garden earlier and saw two black birds and a pidgeon trying to scare off a magpie. I realised why when I spotted this little blackbird fledgling. Just took one quick snap as didnt want to frighten it even more. The magpie was sent packing but returned a few times but I think it got sent away each time. Interesting to see the other birds working together to defend the fledgling. I thought it was dead at first but this was after it perked up. Last I saw it had tucked itself under a leaf and was quite well hidden.
