An ordinary life....

All around the bloomin' heather...

Awwww James :-)

Another gloriously sunny day.

I would have thought by this stage of lockdown, on a day like today when the sun is shining, I would have been desperate to get out in the car and go somewhere, but the strange thing is, I'm not.

Maybe it's because I know I can't, but anyway, I was more than content to have lunch then spend the afternoon in the garden, having a mooch and spending some time watching the buzzy things buzzing about the white and purple heathers that are in full bloom at the moment.

I am amazed this shot turned out at all because my camera was hand held and there was a very gusty breeze blowing the heather about.  If the weather is as good tomorrow I'll maybe make the effort and take my tripod out with me.

Dinner was mushroom risotto.  A bit of a faff to make (well the stirring is) but well worth it.  It was lovely.

David had an online rehearsal with his singing group tonight.  Sixteen people, with different wifi connections and varying strengths of signals, all trying to sing in unison....naw, it didnae happen!  lol

And that was today.

Oh!  Just remembered something spooky happened this morning!

When I went to bed last night, I read a bit of my 1995 diary.  It included this extract from 7th January 1995, when my nephew Andrew (now age 29 but age 3 at the time) was staying overnight with David and me (way before Alan was born :-)  Anyway, it said...

Andrew stayed with us last night and it was lovely, what a laugh we had.  On the way over to ours  in the car he announced it was a thumbs up day! We had a lovely time with him.  He went to bed without any problem, however he was knocking on our bedroom door at 4.03am!!! He was taken back to bed and re-settled, helped by a few verses of The Wheels on the Bus.
In the morning we played games (David was asleep on the settee)  then Andrew sat on my knee to watch telly. Just before he got on my knee he put his arms round my neck and said “I love you.” I nearly cried.   It reminded me that if David and I don’t get the chance to be parents, we have a new niece and a nephew who we love just as much as we would our own, but without the financial burden and sleepless nights”  :-))

When I woke up this morning, I discovered Andrew had send a message to our family text group just after 8am.  The message was a link TO THIS!!!!

Apparently Esme (his little girl) wanted to share it with us :-))

Now that's spooky, right?!
