Robins
Today has been a much better day. This morning we had a video call with my brother and his family in New Zealand which was a lot of fun. The girls are in their 20’s now and very chatty, so we spent a lot of time just listening :)
After some small jobs in the house we had our walk and then had lunch and this afternoon has been spent in the garden with me planting seeds and weeding and hubby digging over a patch of border. My mum has ordered some plug plants and will grow them on for us in her greenhouse so we need to prepare the border. It has been quite a challenge as it has not been dug over for many years. The geraniums, brambles and weeds have taken over and are proving difficult to remove, but we are getting there, slowly.
The birds have been quite vocal today - we’ve seen the blackbirds in abundance and we are certain there is a nest in the conifers, the dunnocks, probably have a nest in the same area, a great tit was checking out our neighbours nest box on the wall, so we are hopeful there and the robins have been bathing and feeding a lot today. I am guessing there must be a nest nearby as well. Can’t wait to see the fledglings when they are ready although I hope that the black cat that has taken to sitting on the fence behind the bird table disappears as quickly as it appeared. I don’t know where it’s come from....
