Little Egret #46
What a fabulous bank holiday it's been - sunshine and birds - what more can a girl want?
Hubby and I headed to RSPB Burton Mere today to try and add to my list of unseen birds and unblipped birds. I really wanted to blip and avocet today, but they were just too far away.
The little egrets were out in force, flying between the water and their nests high up in the trees.
We did see a couple of cattle egrets early on but they proved elusive for the rest of the day.
A late lunch at Parkgate and another walk saw meadow pipits a-plenty and this lovely stonechat sat high in a tree (in extras).
Loving this weather as it also brought out the butterflies - orange tips, speckled wood, comma, peacock and green veined whites were all seen today.
Tomorrow I am going to join a "Spring Migrant Birds" walk at Moore nature reserve in the morning whilst hubby goes out to work to earn the pennies.
