Today's the day ……………………… for the last of the daffs

It's been a glorious year for them but we're just about coming to the end of the daffodil season.  Apparently there are over 13,000 different varieties of them - and quite a few that have appeared in this garden as if by magic.  These tiny, multiheaded ones are in the rockery.

The Daffodil Society  was established in 1898 as the specialist society of Great Britain for all who are interested in the Genus Narcissus.  There is always a full programme of competitions and shows around the country in the Spring when many enthusiasts will gather to share their love of these captivating flowers. 

The Daffodil Society Annual Show  2020 was due to be held at Birmingham Botanical Gardens this weekend - but of course, along with many other such events, it has now been cancelled because of the coronavirus …………………...
