Tricolour
Preparations for my tricolour cous cous salad tonight and thinking about Italy and the horrific time they’ve had. I was also thinking about how wonderful it is to have fresh fruit and veg in the house and that I’m never going to take it for granted again.
A day of work which was mostly productive. I’m finding that lockdown feels increasingly normal now and rhythms and routines have adjusted.
Today’s daily walk was full of contemplation about the future economic climate and how things are going to be when we are all finally out of this. Maybe it’s because we’ve seen before how austerity always seems hit hardest those who are most at need, that my thoughts aren’t cheery. As we are plunged into likely recession at the end of this, it’s likely that those who suffer most will be those in the lowest paid jobs and with the least stable contracts. Those people in lower paid jobs that we’ve been so dependent on of late. Maybe things will change and those more capable of taking the brunt of it, will. Time will tell.
