Another day in lockdown

I was at Asda at 9am this morning trying to stock up on fresh fruit and veg. Delightfully, they were selling off punnets of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries which are now in little bags in the freezer, ready to make smoothies for when the fresh stuff is gone. I shouldn’t need to go to the supermarket for a couple of weeks now which is actually a shame because going to the supermarket is what passes for entertainment these days.

This afternoon I went on the most beautiful walk. The last time I did this route was on a run maybe a couple of months ago. Back then it was sodden and muddy and I came back thoroughly wet. I can’t believe the difference that a couple of months have made. Today Spring had burst into bloom and it was just wonderful. Everybody I passed was in good spirits and one lady confirmed what I was thinking: ‘we are so lucky’. Nature has been my escape during the lockdown and I can’t imagine what it must be like having to face this indoors, with no hope of an escape outdoors. Definitely counting my blessings today.
