St. Germain des Pres, Paris
We took an afternoon outing to the church of St. Germain des Pres for a recital by the organist Vincent Rigot, with pieces including Buxtehude, Pachelbel and J.S. Bach. Enjoyable, but the main event of the day was the reappearance of the sun by late morning (it last appeared in one of my blips on 15 January). I like the way the colors of the tree echo the grays of the church.
The Abbey of St. Germain des Pres was one of the oldest churches in Paris, just outside the medieval city of Paris; it's now very much in the center. I was on the Boulevard Saint-Germain, and I marked my location fairly precisely on the map.
