Fancy work

I have been putting the false stem on. This goes down the bow, round the forefoot and joins the keel rubber. To bend round so tightly it needs to be laminated. There are five laminations and they could have been the light wood or the dark wood and painted over. But I felt it was an opportunity for some fancy work so it was three dark and two light and the stem will be varnished. Likewise the brass rubbing strip is intended never to be rubbed.
