Recalcitrant beast

The gov bought this back in the day (probably about 1986 when she was overwhelmed with the size and untamed nature of the garden). It was never really a success mainly because of the clutch that engaged but refused to disengage so you ended up striding over ground you never intended to cultivate frantically trying to get it out of gear.
Anyway it has spent many a year under a plastic sheet to protect it from the weather, however a year or three ago we had need of it but it would start but not run. So we abandoned it and bought an electric one on special offer from Screwfix that was ace.
Now we have need of the macho qualities of the beast and so I set about getting it running. The petrol tank and carb was dismantled and cleaned and it was all put back together but would it start? No it wouldn’t, no spark so I fiddled about and came to the conclusion that the coil is u/s.
Lots of looking online and I have ordered a new coil to collect on Tuesday so with luck it will be working by CoP Wednesday.
