Homeward bound (Day 1800)

The day started with a trip to Stromness, stopping at Mum and Dad's to leave a birthday present on the driveway. We had a bit of a catch up, maintaining appropriate social distance, before  my beautiful wife and I headed off to the yard.
HV wanted to do stuff and this with Jeeps and Bessie, so I took George a ride along the shore. It was a lovely ride in the sunshine and George was only marginally spooked by a discarded latex glove someone had stretched over the top of a fence post. I don't understand people sometimes.
Back home for lunch, then off out with the woofers at Lyde. It was warm enough to wander along without jackets.
Later, while HV got ready to head to work, I set about trying to get out rotavator started. We got it free a couple of years ago and it hasn't been started since I put it in the shed. There was a fair amount of rust in the carburettor, and the fuel tank, so I spent a while cleaning the rust out and clearing the carb jets. I was starting to put it all back together again when I got a call out to deal with a broken kitchen tap. I hurriedly packed everything away before zooming off to Orphir.
It has been a good day.
