Diary of an Edinburgher

Self Isolation Day 25

Today when I took Archie out (fairly) early, and he obligingly did his business sharpish, and so I tied him up at the bus stop and popped into the wee shop. They have signs and arrows and it’s all very safe. I got some essentials - milk, hot cross buns, Fruit ‘no Nut chocolate and Almond Magnums on sale (50p each).

I’ve done the bike, and a 5 minute arm workout with the weights. I say 5 minute workout, but I didn’t quite make it and had to keep stopping... I’ve got the weights in the lounge and intend to do them at every ad break. Fortunately, we tend to watch BBC or Apple TV or Prime, thus avoiding ads altogether. And there were NO ad breaks in Channel 4 news!

JR took Archie out for a big walk this afternoon, and then did her exercises.

All this talk of relaxing the restrictions - of course not! We’re nowhere near the peak viz - all these huge hospitals they’re building/have built with nobody (maybe a few patients in the London one) in them yet. The police are dreading the sunny Easter weekend coming up and idiots flouting the lockdown. No such worries in Scotland, though, and not because we don’t have our share of idiots - we do - but because we’re about 10° cooler and cloudy. And I don’t really mind!

Well done New Zealand. They did all the right things at the right time, and it looks like they’ve got it beaten. One death. NO medic deaths!

Archie helped me doing a jigsaw this morning. This is his favourite photo with his big pal Hamish..

Clap for the NHS tonight.
