Five Days Late

Such a great day today - sunny and gorgeous morning and you just knew looking out into the sunshine that everything was going to be great!

Heading off to Slimbridge WWT to start with proved fractionally alarming as the car park was rammed and I'd forgotten they were doing a birding weekend and the 'world and his wife', as my mother used to say had turned out. One of the first people I bumped into was Johnny Kingdom from Springwatch fame doing a talk . The bittern was out and about up in the reedbeds and I found it surprising that the Hide which is 2 storey didn't heel over onto one side with the weight of the lenses. I did feel a bit unforgivably smug here on that count! :)) ( Bittern)

However always on the look out I caught sight of a squirrel which seemed as squirrels do to be lured by the smell of peanuts! OH...... if only it had made an appearance on Monday Debbi. We really don't get many squirrels at all where we live and I was incredibly thrilled to see one and capture it on camera, especially as I'd had such a failure on the squirrel front on Monday for the Awareness Day!!

Going home and stopping off at a garage I saw this wagtail so cute almost trying to get into the car - well nearly - and was sorely tempted to blip him. Dilema! :) In the end you have Tufty squirrel because I love the light on his ears!
