‘Binkie’
During our exercise walk yesterday we met Marjorie, one of the longest residents of Beehive Lane.
She told us that her husband Teddy was responsible for planting most of the daffodils that flank the lane every spring.
She said that the last variety that he planted before he died was called ‘Binkie’, and so I thought it would be nice to discover some of them.
I think this is it. They are pale, with deeper edges to the trumpet. They are distributed widely along the lane, so Teddy was obviously quite taken with them, and it’s a nice tribute to him that they are still thriving.
