Alfred Mynn
Alfred Mynn is long departed from this world but not forgotten. Judged by many to be one of the world’s greatest cricketers his name lives on in our village of Bearsted in Kent.
One of the nearby roads in named Mynn Crescent and the Parish Council presents the Mynn Award to people who deserve special recognition for their community work within the Parish. Mynn’s home, Mount Pleasant is in Bearsted, our village sign depicts him and a local pub, the Lion of Kent is named after him.

Spent a happy 90 minutes doing an WhatsApp virtual scavenger hunt with the Scottish branches of the family. Good fun it was. Spoke for an hour with Chris in California. They’re in the same lockdown circumstances as us. All in all he’s bearing up under some very challenging circumstances.
