LOCK DOWN – DAY 13

Well, our weather app lied AGAIN. Mr Sunshine has been no where to be seen today. Until about 5.30pm-ish. And actually even though Mr Sunshine has put in an appearance it's not exactly warm enough to sit out on the balcony. Let's hope tomorrow will be better. My human definitely operates better if she can see a bit of sunshine.

This morning at 8am I went up Blackford Hill for my walk. We usually walk through the grounds of the 'Astley Ainslie Hospital' to get there, but now there is a notice on their gates asking dog walkers and children playing to stay away. Hmmmm........ we had a feeling something like that might happen. Dogs have always had to stay on their leads within the grounds which is fair enough. (We only walk through there en-route to somewhere else) but over the last couple of weeks there's been loads of people exercising their dogs, off lead, on the grassy areas and loads of kids playing and riding their bikes. Grrrrrrrr.................... People breaking the rules spoils it for the rest of us.

Anyway I went up Blackford Hill and even though it was early, there were quite a few people about. There were even people on bikes at the top of the hill. Seriously?!! We've never seen people on bikes at the top of the hill before. Letting me have run about time is becoming more and more challenging every day.

BUT...................... the good thing about this mornings walk was.................... when we were walking home and passed M&S, there was NO queue. Yay! So Ann tied me up and went in. The lady on the door thought I was the cutest little collie ever so she said she'd keep an eye on me. Normally Ann doesn't take me shopping because she worries if she ties me up outside a shop someone will steal me. Ann did a biggish shop and got enough meat & veg for a week, though M&S food stores aren't really great for essentials like bin bags & toilet rolls, but hey ho we've got enough of those at the moment.

And then when Ann came out, a queue was starting to form but everyone was looking at me and commenting on what a cute little dog I was. I was sitting in 'perfect pooch mode' and when Ann came out I gave her such a nice welcome. Ann was very, very proud of me. I bet everyone in the queue wished they had a lovely little collie pup like me.

Oh and in other news........................... What do you all think about 'Catherine Calderwood' visiting her second home??????????

Ann made the decision a few weeks ago not to go to Cornwall in April to visit our second home, because we were 'following the rules'. And unlike Catherine Calderwood our 'second home' is actually our main source of income, not just a little retreat to escape to when life gets a bit hard??!! (Oh and for any of our English friends; Catherine Calderwood is Scotlands Chief Medical Officer, who is fronting up the campaign to stay at home.)

However, we haven't been to Cornwall since December so are understandably getting a bit anxious about our house there. Fortunately we have the bestest housekeeper in the world who we know will keep an eye on it for us. Thanks Julia xxx
