Today's Ride
Firstly... If you haven't then perhaps revisit yesterday's blip and look at the extra I put up after midday. Everything in italics probably doesn't want repeating if you know any geologists, but the rest might impress them.
An 04.30 start to take this ambulance to Cheshire to be upgraded to deal with Covid-19 patients. Sombering. Shattered now. Odd how a moonlight start is awesome if a summit is involved, is horrendous if not.
I put this on Facebook and got a wave of loveliness. A few people beeped and waved as I drove it the 100 miles each way. Many many will clap tonight. And that is all lovely and heart warming, thank you.
But please, if we learn only one thing from this catastrophe when it is finally over, then let us allremember who our key workers really are. Remember who stood up when it really mattered. It wasn't the billionaires, it wasn't the bankers and it wasn't Boris however he might spin it. It was the little folks, the ones on minimum wage, the ones never paid enough, the ones who did it for no pay just because it needed doing. We need to address what we value as a society.
