"I heard a great story once
To get across the point that the earth really is alive
If you were interviewing a butterfly
Standing on the branch of a sequoia tree
Now, a butterfly lives for only a few days
And a sequoia tree can live for over a thousand years
If you were to ask the butterfly
Do you perceive the object on which you are standing to be alive
The butterfly would say, of course not, I've been here my whole life
Which is all of 5 days, and the tree hasn't done a thing
"Lucidity," by Kinobe from the album Soundphiles.
Today I did some work in the shadow of this 165 year old 'baby' sequoia tree and then I got to say hello to RF for a fleeting moment as I drove home.
My personal challenge of photographing the sunrise time sky at the Skeleton tree was knocked into extra territory by the 'other' tree.
I hope that all your families and friends remain safe and virus free.
