Working day

Today was productive. I did a long days work and the girls were good for John. I came up to the office in the afternoon and wanted to practice writing and doing 'important work'.

I had conversations with a number of clients who find themselves in serious financial difficulty and I feel grateful that we are OK so far and feel guilty for moaning that we are having to make cut backs.

Very many of our clients are furloughing their staff and lots of my friends are being furloughed. One thing is for sure, we will be busy at work next month claiming these grants for all of our payroll clients. We habe so much to learn and it would be much easier if we were in the office and could thrash out ideas face to face. What is happening is truly unprecidented and I have no idea what it will mean for the future and the economy and the tax system. Maybe it is time for a shake up though.

Had a long zoom video call with the preschool ladies this evening, debating who to furlough and who to keep on. It was nice to see everyone, albeit over VC.

Shocking headlines this evening that a 13 year old has died from the virus. So devestating for that family.
