A Better Day
LOCKDOWN DAY 7
Last night I gave myself a good talking to! I had felt quite low and irritable all day yesterday and hardly got anything done.
I also had a sore left arm in the crease of my elbow, which I have been getting of late. I googled it and think it is tendonitis so took a paracetamol and an Ibuprofen together. The pain is gone!
I think many of us are having up and down days - I suppose it's to be expected under the circumstances.
This morning I was up at 6 and when I switched the news on it was that family - The Marsh's - singing their song. Did anyone see them? They really made me laugh and it felt so good to laugh again! Well done them - they have cheered the nation and probably the world up!
Anyway, I had a much more positive attitude today.
I tidied the kitchen then sat down to write the Grandma Journals. I'll do a bit each day.
As I was going to sleep last night the song - Sealed With a Kiss' came into my head. No idea why as I hadn't heard it anywhere. I remembered later this morning so looked up the words with chords on google. I remembered the song vaguely from the 60's but when I read the words they are so apt.
I asked Frank if he would learn it so I can play the uke and do the vocal harmonies.
This morning I phoned the village shop to place an order. I asked if they had any veg or fruit at all.
'What you like?' She said.
'You mean I have a choice? I said.
She reeled off 'Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, onions, spuds, tomatoes, oranges, bananas, apples....'
We got everything we needed - even plain and SR flour, pure orange juice and loo rolls! She didn't have margarine and being vegan we don't eat butter.
The groceries arrived on the doorstep this afternoon.
As I'm aiming to be as self sufficient as possible I looked up how to make vegan marg.

It looks easy peasy so I ordered a large tub of refined coconut oil and a small packet of soya lecthin from ebay. We have the other ingredients. I usually get Naturli Block spread which is delicious but I don't fancy venturing in to Skipton.
Also, the local garden centre delivered the six bags of compost, some onion sets, a packet of Lobelia seeds and a little blueberry bush. It's very sad though because the garden centre is not allowed to deliver now and is having to close. All those lovely plants will go to waste. The owner looked so upset. :-( I wish I had bought more plants from there now!
We had some window visitors today! Jim, Amy and baby Evie (they lived next door but one until a couple of months ago) they were on their daily walk and knocked on the window and we had a chat. It was so lovely to see them. They have just recovered from what they think was Covid19 and are just out of isolation. I wish I could have squished the baby!
Sabrina sends me photos and videos of Amelia and Lucy every day. Todays were of Amelia doing her Off Ice Exercises which are set by the coach and some others of them both painting pine cones which little Lucy had collected with her Daddy.
I got Frank to take some photos of me doing exercises - not very elegantly - and sent them, (see extra). Sabrina said they made the girls laugh :-D
Tomorrow I'm going to work in the garden for a bit - even if it's cold!
Now, I'm going to read the Saturday Guardian magazine and then the Michael Morpurgo book which is quite promising.
Goodnight Blip friends and thanks for stars, comments and support on my down day! :-)
