Made it

This little guy/guy-ess, moved out of reach of the 3 young cats that hang around my place. I was about to shift it from an easy reach spot on my washing when it walked to the shoulder of a top, drying on a coat hanger.

Of the 3 young cats only Jasper is mine. At 2 years old he's the elder statesman. The other 2 are teenagers. Skye, the girlfriend from next door, regularly visits. Her interactions seem to mostly consist of swatting and hissing at Jasper. She's a funny wee minx.

Shadow, the little mate is a frequent flier here. He's often waiting outside for Jasper. They wrestle and chase each other a lot. Given half a chance Shadow will shoot inside and steal something.

I can't work out if Jasper or the garden is the draw card. I think it's a bit of both.

Today felt wobbly at times because of the uncertainty with my job. For now I have work to do and for that I'm grateful.

We're back to warmer sunny weather after 2 cold wet days. An advantage of working from home is that I can exercise as soon as I've finished work.

10km later my anxiety had lessened. My gift to myself tonight is no more devices after this is posted, an early night, and a book to read.

I listened to one radio news bulletin today. That's the first for several days. I didn't read any covid articles online and I never watch tv news anyway.

How much exposure I have to media and social media, is something I can control. Severely limiting it is part of my self care.

Today's gratitude: For the sound of birds and the fragrance of pine and eucalyptus trees while exercising.
