Our beautiful weeping cherry tree
Friday
We didn’t make it out for any exercise today, so I took a picture of our weeping cherry which is at the front of the house, and looking quite a picture at the moment. The main news of the day was that Laura was able to make the evening flight from JFK (see yesterday’s blip for more details), and is now safely home with us. However, it was so hard and unnatural not to be able to give her a big hug at the airport! She said she had never been through immigration so fast in New York - and we were surprised they didn’t take their temperature either boarding in Kuwait or upon arrival in New York. Both flights were at least half empty - even the repatriation flight. We made her sit in the third row of the car coming back, and at home she has her own bathroom, and her designated sofa in the family room, about six feet away from us! The fear is more that she could have picked it up coming through JFK, rather than her bringing it from Kuwait, where they have relatively few cases, no deaths, and strict lockdown, and evening curfew.
