Jake Turkey

My neighbor calls him a 'jake' which I assume must be a name for a young male turkey. There are wild turkeys all over the place here but this fellow seems to be all on his own and, at least as long as he is svelte enough to fly over the deer fence, has found a rather nice living in her veggie garden. He spends quite a bit of time on our side of said deer fence and this is a (rather bad) picture of him standing on top of the fence.

Jim and Dana completed their two week  quarantine today in good health and we decided nobody could be 'safer' than them, so Jim came over and got John's computer working. Bless him.

Peter and Will delivered a bag of groceries to our porch. Will drove up to the house, Peter hopped out with the bag of groceries (mostly beer which had been in their fridge for months) and placed it on the doormat saying that it was heavy, then saying, "I'll bring it into the house..."
I leapt back and said 'NO, no no...." He threw up his hands and jumped sideways down the front steps. It made me laugh. And apologize for such a bizarre and uncharacteristic reaction. I miss them....

Life goes on despite the weirdness. Our latest challenge is our aging dog who starts barking at 6pm and doesn't stop until we finally give up and go to bed. Nothing we do helps.

I did a little research into washing lettuce

I made a lasagne for us and another one for Dana's family.

Talked to Tim who is a research chemist and tried working from home but company IT couldn't support their efforts.

Talked to Matt, whose company makes baseball bats. He is trying to figure out how to conserve cash on things like advertising so that they don't have to fire people

Talked to my neighbor whose daughter just postponed her wedding from May to August.

We're hoping the jake turkey gets too heavy to fly over the deer fence by the time our lettuce starts growing again. It's too cold right now...

The tomato plants seem to have survived the hailstorm...

Hope everybody is surviving/asjusting/figuring how to live this way....
