Walk in the Woods

We took our daily walk today in the woods - always pleasant but particularly good in today's lovely weather.  Although there were a number of cars parked in the entrance, these woods cover a large area so there was no problem distancing ourselves from the few people we did see.

We took a longer route than normal through the woods, seeing areas that we hadn't visited for months.  Apart from the deliberate coppicing that has taken place, there were many fallen or damaged trees which I assume were the result of the violent storms (Ciara and Dennis) which we suffered at the start of the year. There was quite a lot of damage.

One benefit of the warmer, dry weather we have been experiencing was that the paths through the trees were a lot less muddy than a week or so ago when we last walked here.
