Bellany and Turner

We had a trip to Edinburgh to see two very different Art Exhibitions at the National Galleries. The John Bellany retrospective has large vibrant paintings tracing his art from the sixties to the present. The paintings are challenging ( certainly to my untrained eye) in their themes . I preferred I think his early work and his more recent, that in between I'm not so sure. By contrast the annual exhibition of the Vaughan bequest Turners never fails to delight. The delicate water colours of Venice are still my favourites.
The photograph is a bit dull but the weather was pretty dismal and the art was the bright part of the day
