Little Reminders

We didn’t do much around the house on Day 3 but we did shop, for ourselves and our friends. Spoke to both Sam and Josh and generally relaxed, in the sun in the morning and indoors once the sun moved round to the front of the house.
Today’s photo was taken yesterday, our garden is full of little reminders of people and events. The concrete bench came from my Mum and Dads garden, I recall my Dad sitting on it. On top of the bench the bright yellow sit-a-long VW Beetle was a gift from Uncle Mark to the kids, years of fun and still works. The bird bath and the black and white pig came from Clare’s mums garden and reminds us of good times.
The sign I put up yesterday after finding it in the shed, when I was made redundant I took it, after all they weren’t going to need it. I had a pretty torrid time over my last three years there and it reminds me not of an unpleasant period in my life but that better times come when you walk away.

We joined neighbours and friends at 8:00pm on our doorstep to applaud our NHS staff. Very proud of Clare and her co-workers but I found myself thinking why do we wait for a crisis to acknowledge people for doing what they do every day of every week.
