A disappointed dog gazes wistfully at the forbidden route. The Pembrokeshire Coast Park Authority has decided that some stretches of the coastal path are too narrow to allow for physical/social distancing. A bizarre decision since exercise and dog-walking are permitted and must now be carried out elsewhere...but where? There are inland footpaths (no wider) if you know them but many people will fall back on lanes and streets where encounters with other people are much more likely. I don't see why basic coronavirus etiquette like hanging back or stepping aside should not be practised on the coast as much as in shops and supermarkets. A simply worded reminder is all that's needed.
The sight of a newly-emerged peacock butterfly was some consolation. Their own sightless 'eyes' are a startling form of protection from potential predators.
