Early Tomatoes
Back blipping after a long time away because I promised a friend I would so they can keep up with what is happening on the nursery in these strange times.
Oil delivery has finally arrived this morning the longest we have had to wait from our regular supplier.A new driver with no idea of social distancing. They have been run off their feet.
Managed to get a bulk load of compost ordered along with a few bulk bags.Helen and I have continued to transplant because we can't just watch the plants we have raised die but we have no idea how many of our customers will be allowed to open in three weeks time. Most who have had to close have took the time to let me know personally which has been so nice and very much appreciated. We do still have orders coming in from those who can legitimately keep trading.
I sown a few tomatoes for our own use back in January and potted them into larger pots today.Eighteen plants so I should have enough to keep friends and family supplied all Summer. My three favourite varieties:-
Sungold which is a yellow cherry and very sweet.
Super Sweet 100 which is a red cherry and very like Gardeners Delight
Shirley which is a red salad tomato that I have grown for well over thirty years.
Now I have started I will try and keep going with the blips and catch up with everyone and comment very soon.
Warm and sunny most of the day.
