The Little Things...
Up early this morning to go to Walgreens for their early "senior" hour. The Manager let us in and we were the only customers in the store - bliss! (By the time we left a short while later, two other older shoppers had come in). The Manager of the store could not have been any nicer and when we asked if there might possibly be any toilet paper, she took us right to it. Joy!! We got a few other things we needed and then went to check out. In the course of doing so, it came up that we'd not been able to find any hand sanitizer for weeks and the Manager immediately got us two small bottles to take with us, at no charge. The kindness of strangers.
So before 9 AM, I felt that I'd scored a major victory by acquiring toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Funny how one's perspective changes in times like this.
I've not left the house other than that today. Tomorrow I must get myself out as I feel depression trying to creep in. I'm trying to limit the news and avoid any political posts on FB. Easier said than done. You'd have thought that a pandemic would be enough for people to put aside partisan differences for the greater good. Wrong. If anything, people are even more entrenched in their partisan lanes.
New Jersey just released today's stats - another big increase. Meanwhile, more states have enacted Stay-at-Home/Shelter-in-place orders, including where my parents live in Oregon (thank God.)
If your country has enacted social distancing guidelines, please, please, please follow them. Stay safe. Be Kind.
