Rainy Days and Mondays...
What I've got they used to call the blues
Nothin' is really wrong
Feelin' like I don't belong
Walkin' around
Some kind of lonely clown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down - The Carpenters, 1971
Actually, I feel less out of sorts than I did yesterday. Perhaps because I skipped over the more vitriolic posts on FB this morning, sticking with those from people I know to be kind and funny. I also abstained from the news for the first several hours today - not an easy thing to do for a news junky like me, but necessary.
We had snow in the forecast today, which I was actually looking forward to. Instead, we had freezing rain and ice which I definitely don't like. I huddled in my down parka in the hide for about 30 minutes before calling it off and coming inside to sit in front of the fire.
Hubs and I are currently on Season 2 of Downton Abbey. I watched the whole series when it originally aired but he'd never seen it. I'm so enjoying re-watching it, and Hubs is now totally addicted too. Perfect escapist fare.
I shall post today's Covid 19 numbers for my state below. It is hard to believe that a week ago our cases number in the low 100's. This is, of course, what scientists predicted would happen but still... Several more states have enacted "Stay-at-home" orders; I'm at a loss as to why the entire country isn't observing this. Meanwhile, we inventoried our supply of toilet paper (c'mon, don't tell me you aren't worried!) and happy to report that we have about a 3-week supply if we are careful. And Hubs scored a package of chicken at the grocer this morning.
Be safe, people. Avoid crowds, wash your hands, don't touch your face and, above all, be kind!
