Birthday Wisdom

We stretch out birthdays for at least a week, so this was Tom’s present to me. It’s a book of Mary Oliver’s prose, but it reads like her poetry. The whole book is to be read, savored, slowly.

This short seven-word sentence stands out as sage advice: “You must not ever stop being whimsical.”
