Going too fast

Running at Dusk

Day one of children being at home

The girl child developed a cough yesterday so took the decision to end school two days early for both of them.

A long and very busy day. I had the 3 Villages Corona Virus support line phone again and we had plenty of calls. More volunteers than people requiring help which is heartening.

The children needed extensive input, the roofers needed cups of tea and the phone jangled for my attention. Each time I tried to get anything done one, or more, alternative things suddenly simultaneously required me.

With Guy shut in the office, ricocheting from one call to the next for work, the house is all mine to manage during the day. He is having a sharp lesson in the pleasure of home working, the isolation, the lack of delineation and a chance to decompress before work becomes home once more.

I eventually went out for a run just before dark, taking my head torch and high vis up to the forest via Holehouse lane, Hacketway Lane and down Toot Hill. I saw one other person outside, though did spot a further couple in the Smithy and one person at the bar in the Dunstan. How long people will be able to do this, and the pubs make a living with their regular business model remains to be seen. The sunset was spectacular. The turning world does not realise what extraordinary times we are living in and keeps on with its regular business, providing some measure of calm if we can just take the time to appreciate it.
