A sense of boredom setting in, a dose of restlessness leads back up into the hills, the skies darkening as the humidity rises. Carrying a cheap lens which just doesn't want to do what I think that it should, random focus and light, lomo resurrected, odd images in the camera display. There's little enough to do, no need for quarantine but for the first two weeks of the return a requirement to wear a mask when we venture outdoors, and I've little inclination to jump on the metro unless it's urgent. Plenty enough things around to distract, the air's still clear, may as well attempt to take some kind of advantage of these days...
Last night was spent reading newspapers, catching up on what's happening in that big world out there, how the virus is moving through Europe, imagination projecting the effects, caught somewhere between hope and disbelief at the farcical machinations of governments and ideologues as the tide sweeps across the world. A series of messages arriving, tales of supermarkets half empty, questions about toilet roll, what is the obsession with the stuff...
