new kid on the block

All of the squirrels that come to my door in the morning for peanuts are of the fox squirrel variety (referring to their lovely reddish brown coloring).
Imagine my surprise when I saw this black squirrel in our neighborhood! I think it should be called a bear squirrel.
This little guy was really working hard to strip the branches of last fall's bounty. I love the way its whiskers are reaching straight up to catch any stray crumbs.
