Demolition

I blipped the derelict house in January. Today, it looks like it's going to be demolished. Plenty of clearing to be done around the old building. I'll likely walk by here tomorrow to see what's happening. This is on the main road, and I had to take a very quick photo because of traffic. Better than no photo at all, and I like to document things like this.
More closures happening on the island, no events scheduled in the "What's on this week" section of our local weekly newspaper that's delivered to our mailbox. This province and Saskatchewan have now declared states of emergency, as did Ontario and Alberta earlier. Some positive steps have been announced by the federal government to assist citizens to make it through these difficult times. It's definitely worrisome and stressful for vulnerable families and those who will lose employment as more and more businesses close, so it's good to know that the government is making efforts to help.
The Canadian-US border has been closed to non-essential traffic but not to vehicles carrying key supplies. Hopefully Canadian and US citizens will be able to cross the border and get home if they've been away.
