Calm
Blue is a calming colour, so I used the blue instagram filter that I made awhile ago on this. The water was completely calm too. It's a good time to do our best to stay as calm as possible.
I wanted to cancel the appointment I had with my family doctor on Friday, and I needed to pick up a travel claim for next week's appointment with the surgeon who did my hernia operation, so we headed to town. The doctor's office was closed, but the receptionist was available for phone calls from 9 - noon. I hesitated to use the public phone in the grocery store but did, and luckily got through to her. She said that she could do the claim right away and would tape it to the office door for me to pick up. Great service. I gave her the thumbs up and mouthed thank you through the window. No idea if next week's appointment will be cancelled, but I'm not keen on travelling on the ferry and going to Vancouver Island anyway.
We picked up a few groceries. There are now limits of one purchase on toilet paper and antiseptic wipes, about time. Plenty of canned goods on the shelves still, but the brand of almond milk that G uses and doesn't need to be refrigerated was cleared out. Luckily there were a few cartons of another brand and he got two. Very few frozen veggies left but still a good selection of produce.
I also got the seeds and onion sets for the veggie garden. No panic, I just like to have them on hand when it's time to plant.
No lingering in town and I just did a quick loop around the harbour boardwalk to get a blip.
Our dentist's office is also closed as are some businesses, and the library will close tomorrow. Auntie Pesto's and Barb's Buns are offering take-out only, and I haven't heard about other cafes. It was announced today that all public schools in the province will be closed indefinitely after the 2-week spring break that started yesterday ends. There aren't any confirmed cases on the island yet, but a lot of the snow birds should be returning soon if they aren't already home, and hopefully the virus won't come with them. It's only a matter of time before we have cases here, I think.

Two shoppers and not a toilet roll in either cart. We stopped briefly at both of the bigger grocery stores and the panic shopping seems to have stopped for now.
