Nims on the Nintendo

Compared to others' plight in life, this Covid-19 disaster is but a minor blip, but couldn't come at a worse time for me, reliant as I am on the next 6 weeks of visits to get my year back on track... to mostly 65+ year olds...
Next week's trip to Isle of Man, almost guaranteed to bring me a fair chunk of the £16K of sales I need to "hit my quarter" (in spite of what feels like a managerial conspiracy to derail me) is off... First visit today involved a supremely skilled successful attempt to appease a customer fuming at having been mis-sold last week - wrong wines arrived, charged at a more expensive price than quoted... At least he'll never buy off a colleague again (even one who assures him that "Kevin has asked me to call you"). Two others I saw fortunately have been there before, and gave those who called them last week short thrift... and were incredulous that other customers had fallen for the "sales bullsh*t". The other I was due to see has developed a dry cough so turned me away, apologising profusely...
Meanwhile Naomi (who has been good company and an effective diversion from my work misery) has swanned off to Berlin, in defiance of government advice... I tried to recruit Hilary (her mum) to dissuade her, but this was ineffective... and entertainingly (and poignantly) Hilary's response to her failed attempt to argue with her was "I can imagine her father doing something similar 20 years ago :D"
Tomorrow everyone has cancelled, so I am driving to Newcastle to pick Bex up, her term now continuing as a "distance learning" course...
I'll try to remember to actually take a photo, unlike on most of the past 10 days...
