Living in a Ghost Town

A cold and windy day.  There has been some fine sunny spells, and also some showers, wintery at times.

The roads were quiet heading to work this morning, mostly due to schools closed all week.  I arrived at work in the museum, and we were soon told that we are to close our doors for the next few weeks, possibly longer.  I do have plenty of photo scanning and archiving to keep me busy, with the possibility of having to take it home if things get worse.  I've also had news that I won't be working in the pub tonight either, sad times ahead.  My friend Willie has a broken foot just now, so I took him shopping this evening.  Some walkies with Sammy, and now feet up by the fire.  Coronavirus cases dropped from 15 to 11 today, and then back up to 15 later.  The Scottish Government are up to something fishy with these numbers.

I had to head in over with a work errand this afternoon, and hardly a soul about.  With the news telling us to stay in more and more, the local shops are seeing less and less, with the supermarkets taking all the profit.  Maybe it's time that the billionaires of the world stepped up and take their hands out of their pockets, and help all these smaller businesses and shops survive this awful ordeal.  Greed will say no to that.  Taken at Da Street, Commercial Street, Lerwick.
