North Cape...

Situated on the island of Magerøy, some 1300 miles south of the North Pole and the most northerly point of Europe.

So beautiful today in bright sunshine and fresh crisp snow. We had to travel in convoy with a snow plough ahead of us and drove through amazing landscape along winding roads.

Back down again, we had a short time in Honningsvåg, a picturesque fishing town, declared a city in 1996. The surrounding oceanic area is heated by the gulf stream and offers less harsh temperatures typical of this northern latitude of -3 to 6degrees in winter and in July up to 20 degrees C in summer. Mmmm.

Another truly beautiful day.
