Criminal damage

Can you see the man standing on a bough of this mighty copper beech tree? He is cutting it down. It must be around 200 years old and in excellent health so far as you can see, but the owners of the land have decided that it’s too close to their house and therefore dangerous.
I’m appalled. If I owned the land I would do everything to keep a landscape quality tree like this but I am powerless to intervene as they have got an ‘Expert’ to advise them.
It really sums up the attitude of people to their environment, anything inconvenient is destroyed with no consideration for the rights of other living things.
Makes me so sad.
