Natural choice
It's been a funny old day.
Lots of Coronavirus talk and subsequent contingency planning. Those who can work from home should, travel around the UK to be kept to the essential and being British, naturally mocking the whole thing until you remember that - underlying conditions or not - people are dying as a result of this.
Michael Rosen was being interviewed this morning and commented that as someone who was now 70+ he felt targeted by the media and very much in the crosshairs of the virus and just because he was older, that didn't mean that his life was worth less than that of an infant. Personally, I found that quite hard to disagree with!
Mixed in with the madness was my children's parents evening (they're both doing great thankyouveddymuch). On arrival to collect them from after-school club, I was informed that the smallest one wouldn't be joining us as she had rather unfortunately shoved an apple pip into her ear and was currently at the hospital to have it removed. Being the great dad that I am, I started laughing prior to the questions forming. Why? Are we sure it's actually in there? If it is, are we sure it's an apple pip? If it's not an apple pip, do we want to know what it is? And so on...
Anyway, I went for a nice lung busting run and returned home and realised that I'd found this.......thing and wanted to photograph it for its intricacy. All the CAD operatives in the world ain't got nothing on Mother Nature.
A nice reminder that in a mad, mixed up world there is still beauty to be found, you just "need to stop and take a look around every once in a while."
