A day out.....

....beautiful calm day to be out and about with hubby by my side.

We started our day with breakfast at a local cafe then decided to go on a roadie. Continuing north we headed in the direction of Kaikoura, stopping at this lovely tranquil spot just north of Cheviot, St Annes Lagoon. We had a wander, watched the wildlife and then decided to drive out east to Gore Bay - it was stunning, no wind and warm. Surfers were riding the waves, dogs were running in the waves while walkers walked along the beach, everyone I passed by had a smile on their face. From Gore Bay were drove over the hills to Hurunui Rivermouth. The grasses were tall and blonde, farmland parched from the hot sun and drought conditions, the river meeting the Pacific Ocean was clean and very blue, so picturesque.

On our way home we stopped by Fossil Point Cafe at Greta Valley. We've noticed in the past that the carpark is always full, guessing the food must be good. We both had carrot cake with coffee's, it was divine!

Sunday.....an enjoyable day to celebrate our 34th Wedding Anniversary, time has flown by.
